Gold
Akbar (1556-1605 AD) - gold mohur of Dar al-Khilafat Agra mint, undated and bearing legends in Nakshi calligraphy, 10.76g.
Punches on edge, Very fine, Rare.
The style and calligraphy of this coin is unlike normal coins of Akbar - however the legends are all correctly engraved and even incorporate the correct diacritic marks, so it is unlikely that this is a token or imitation. Perhaps, it is a work of an apprentice die engraver practising his skills in die-making. A highly unusual piece of Mughal coinage.
