Pushyabhutis (Varddhanas) of Sthaneshwara, silver drachm of Harsha / Harshavardhana (c.606-647AD) as 'Shiladitya', PAIC 3709, 2.27g. Obv: Bust of king facing left, crescent on the temple above ear. Rev: a fan-tailed peacock in the centre, Brahmi legend Vijitāvaniravanipati Shri Shilādityo Divam Jayati.
About extremely fine, Very rare.
Harshavardhana was one of the greatest post-Gupta rulers of North India. His imperial march was only halted by Pulakeshi II the Chalukya king of Badami, on the banks of the Narmada river.
