Balwantnagar or Jhansi was occupied by the Marathas under the command of Naro Shankar Rajebahadur of Malegaon in 1745. He was appointed the first Subhedar of Jhansi by Nanasaheb Peshwa. RY28 is the earliest year of activity for the Maratha mint at Jhansi.
