Alamgir II (1754-1759 AD), silver rupee, Dilshadabad mint, 'Mihr Munir' couplet, issued under the authority of Nizams of Hyderabad, AH date partly visible at top on reverse, beautiful flower and leaf symbol, 11.17g. Obv: Persian legend Sikka zad dar Jahan chu Mihr Muneer Sahib Qiran Thani Badshah Alamgir. Rev: Mint-name and Jalus formula.
Decorative floral motifs on both sides, Uncirculated, Very rare.
The coin bears 'Mihr Munir' couplet known only on coins of Dilshadabad and Imtiyazgarh mints. It is arranged in four lines on obverse. The coin was struck during the period of political uncertainty precipitated by the conflict of succession between the four sons of Nizam ul-Mulk Asaf Jah I in mid-1750s. Dilshadabad, alias Narayanpett was one of the Hindu 'Samsthanas’ feudatories to the Nizams of Haidarabad.
