Silver
Kutch/Kachchh - silver kori of Khengarji III (1875-1942 AD), in joint name of Victoria as the 'Mighty Queen', Bhuj mint, dated VS 1932/1876AD, Rajgor 189.1, 4.72g. Obv: emblems of Trisul, crescent and dagger; Devanagari legend Maharau Shri/Khengar Ji in two lines followed by VS date in numbers. Rev: Farsi legend Malikah Mu'azzamah Kween Viktoriya Zarb Bhuj and AD date in numbers.
Uncirculated, Exceedingly rare.
During the first two years of Khengarji III's reign, coins bearing the name of Victoria as a 'mighty queen' were struck - but the title was changed to 'Empress of India' after 1877, when this new imperial title was declared for the Queen. This variety of silver kori was probably struck as a trial or a pattern, but not put in general circulation, to give way for the new design with the imperial title.
