Bombay Presidency, Mumbai mint, silver rupee, for use on the Malabar coast (1810-1813 AD), in the name of Alamgir II, inverted crescent mint-mark on obverse, Stevens EIC 7.18, PR 294, 11.50g.
Good very fine, Rare.
These are derived from the earlier crescent marked rupees struck at Bombay or Tellicherry. Distinguishing features are the upside-down crescent, the simplified legend and the neat appearance of the coin.
