Obv: elephant standing facing left, Shrivatsa and another indistinct symbol above its back; Brahmi legend Maharathisa Vasithi… above. Rev: traces of a ten-arched hill enclosed in a rectangular border.

This coin conforms in type to the coins of Maharathis of the 'Hathi' family, that were first discovered in excavations at Veerapuram. The Hathi Maharathis, pertinently for their name, struck coins in the elephant type. This appears to be an issue of a hitherto unknown member of the family. Other individuals known from excavated finds were Mahahathi, Khadahari Hathi, Pahalamasi etc.
