Ancient Malwa, Ujjain region - post-Mauryan inscribed die-struck copper coin of the 'Ujjain' series, humimitra (200-150 BC), Pieper AIRC 405-406, 2.28g. Obv: Human figure seated cross-legged on lotus, wearing hair-bun and carrying a staff and water-pot, traces of tree-in-railing, wheel with arrow-spokes and triangle-headed standard to left; Brahmi legend Bhumimi(ta)… partly visible to right. Rev: 'Ujjain' symbol with smaller 'Ujjain' symbols in orbs.
