Orchha - Vikramajit (1776-1817), silver rupee in the name of Shah Alam II, Tehri mint, large sun-shield (Aftabgir) and Trisul symbols on reverse, bud symbol on obverse, KM-311, 11.00g.
Extremely fine, Very rare.
Tehri became the headquarters town of the Orchha State in 1783. The name in local language means triangle, as it consisted of three hamlets forming a rough triangle. The name of Tehri was changed to 'Tikamgarh' in 1887 in honour of Lord Krishna.
