Maratha 'Swarajya' - copper Sajgani / 'Shivarai' ½ (?) Paisa, in the name of Chhatrapati Shivaji (1674-1680 AD), so called 'lifetime issue' with dotted borders on either side, M&W T1a, 7.66g. Obv: Devanagari legend in three lines Shri / Raja / Shiva. Rev: Devanagari legend in two lines Chhatra / Pati.
Good very fine, Rare.
The weight of this coin is somewhat heavy for a half paisa denomination and it is likely to have been struck as a 2/3rd paisa, following the denominational system of the Sultans of Deccan.
