Ancient Central Malwa - city-states of the Betwa Valley, alloyed copper coin of Kuraghara city-state, PAIC 834, 11.77g. Obv: Brahmi legend Kuraghara; a three-arched hill and 'open cross' above and a bird facing left below. Rev: 'open cross’ with four dots in centre.
Very fine, Very rare.
‘Kuraghara' is most likely Kurawad, in Basoda tehsil of Vidisha district, Madhya Pradesh located on the banks of Betwa River, where it takes an eastward turn.
