Hindu kings of Kashmir, Utpala dynasty - copper dinar of Gopala varman (c.902-904 AD), MNC 161-163, 5.90g. Obv: Stylized representation of a seated goddess; Sarada legend Gopala to right. Rev: Stylized king standing facing slightly left, sacrificing over altar; Sarada legend Deva below his arm.
Good Very fine, Rare.
The coin is a mule of the obverse of Gopala varman and the reverse of another king with name ending in 'Deva'. Highly unusual as such.
