Kunindas - alloyed copper unit imitating issues of Amoghabhuti, King of the Kunindas (c.50BC-50AD), PAIC 1247, 9.88g. Obv: Deer facing right, a female deity holding lotus standing to its right, altar above its back and Shrivatsa between horns; traces of Brahmi legend around. Rev: Group of symbols - six-arched hill topped with an altar, Nandipada, tree-in railing, triangle-headed standard, Swastika, wavy line (river) with traces of Kharoshthi legend around.
Good Very fine, Rare.
The coin has unusual metallic composition and weight and conforms to a type found as a single large hoard in the early 1980s. Some coins of this hoard had the legend Prajapati Akhyasa in Kharoshthi on reverse.
