Portuguese India, Daman - tin bazarucco, undated (c.1600-1700 AD), 2.07g. Obv: Small arms with 'Io' and 'B' on either side, both letters retrograde. Rev:Small crowned cross with 'C' and 'D' on either side, both letters retrograde.
Extremely fine, Very rare.
A very rare early bazarucco from Western coast; the letters C and D most likely mean 'Christos' and 'Deus' (Christ and God). The monogram 'Io' on obverse suggests it was probably struck during the reign of D. Joao IV(1640-1656).
