The attribution of this silver coin to Abhira king Lakshmideva is on the basis of a unique gold punch-marked coin offered in Oswal Antiques auction no. 50, lot 12. The central punch on the gold Gadyana is the same as the main device on this coin, a running warrior. The letter 'La' is engraved in exactly the same style as on the gold coin which sported a fuller legend 'Shri Lakshmi'. Lakshmideva, the Abhira king of Bhambhagiri (identified with present-day Bhamer in Khandesh) is mentioned in inscriptions of king Ramachandra of the Yadava dynasty of Devagiri, as one of the rulers who the Yadava king Singhana had defeated.
