Arakan, Akara dynasty, silver coin of Ratnakara (700-800 AD), not published in Mitchienr, 6.63g. Obv: Recumbent humped bull seated facing left; Brahmi legend Ratnakara above. Rev: Shrivatsa with sun & moon above and a garland around.
Extremely fine, Very rare.
The rulers of Akara dynasty ruled towards the south of Chittagong and north of Arakan (Rakhine) province of Myanmar, known from coins and inscriptions. No inscriptions of Ratnakara have yet been known.
