Arakan, Chandra dynasty, silver coin of Dharmavijaya, (644-680 AD), MLW-46, 8.08g. Obv: Recumbent humped bull seated facing left; Brahmi legend Dharmmavijaya above. Rev: Shrivatsa with sun & moon above and a garland around.
Very fine, Rare.
Mitchiner has divided the coinage of Dharmavijaya into two mints, one at Vaisali (near Arakan, now in Myanmar) and the other at Chittagong, now in Bangladesh. These are distinguished by the form of the letter "Ja" in the ruler's name. This piece is the Vaisali type.
