Chalukyas of Kalyani or feudatories, gold punch-marked Gadyana in the name of Someshvara III (1127 -1138) 3.71g.Obv: Nine punches: 5x stylized lion facing left, 2x Kannada letter 'Shri', 1x broad bladed dagger/temple and 1x Kannada legend Bhuloka. Rev: Small punch of Hanuman running to right.
Very fine, Very rare.
The reverse punch suggests that the coin was in all likelihood an issue of the Kadambas of Hangal, as feudatories of the Chalukyas.
