Early Medieval Maharashtra, Khandesh region, 'bull' type alloyed copper coin of 'Vishnukundin' fabric attributed to 'Vira', probably a local Rashtrakuta ruler (600-700 AD), 3.58g. Obv: Bull standing facing left, Brahmi legend Shri Vira inscribed retrograde above. Rev: Chakra in axial view placed on a pedestal with two lamp-posts flanking it.
Extremely fine, Very rare.
It is highly unusual to find a bull facing left in the 'bull' type Vishnukundin fabric coins of early medieval Northern Maharashtra.
