Hunnic coinage, Kashmir Smast votive series, copper coin imitating Sasanian type (500-600 AD), 0.63g. Obv: Sasanian style bust facing right, wearing hawk-headed crown. Rev: A thunderbolt symbol with ribbons tied at the constricted middle.
Extremely fine, Very rare.
Coins from the religious site of Kashmir Smast were struck to serve regional religious economy, supported by charity of visiting pilgrims. Kashmir Smast became a major Brahmanic cult-centre under Huna patronage in 6th century AD.
