Indus Valley Civilization (mature phase, 2500-2000 BC), gold ornamental diskette, to be strung into a necklace, 1.10g.
Very fine, Very scarce.
A large hoard of such diskettes was found in May 2000 at Mandi in Muzaffarnagar dist, western Uttar Pradesh. The hoard was contained in two bronze containers and included many varieties of spacer beads, hollow terminal beads, single and double bell-shaped beads, and thin circular diskettes, similar to this one. Many diskettes, delicately manufactured, have milled edges.
