Humayun (1530-1542), Double Shahrukhi/Tanka? struck in Bengal during campaign against Sher Shah (around 1537-38), 'Arsah' type, similar to G&G B955, 9.62g. Obv: Arabic legend Muhammad Humayun Badshah Ghazi; other titles in the margin. Rev: Kalima and additional Arabic inscription Irzak Allah man tasha'a bi-ghayr Hisab, some part weak.
About Very Fine, Very Rare.
The weight of this coin is intriguing – at 9.62g it is lighter than the Tanka listed by Goron & Goenka. 10.7g, slightly heavier than a double Shahrukhi. It could be a worn Tanka, but if it is the latter, it would possibly be a unique coin.
