Rashtrakutas in Western India, inscribed Silver Dramma, c. 8th cent. AD, 0.30g. Obv: boar facing left, Rev: Brahmi legend in five letters, Sri Guna Shura? (Not yet fully read).
Extremely Fine, Very Rare.
These coins are found chiefly in North-East and North Maharashtra, the heartland of the early Rashtrakutas. The legend on the reverse is not fully read as yet despite being seen on several specimens, but type evidence suggests a Rashtrakuta attribution.
