Eastern Chalukyas of Vengi, 'Vishnukundin'-type copper coin, after Vishnuvardhana I alias Vishama Siddhi (624-641 AD), 2.99g. Obv: Lion to right within a dotted border; traces of Brahmi legend ShriVi above. Rev: Shankha shell between two lamp-stands.
Very Fine+, Rare.
The Eastern Chalukya rulers continued minting their coins in the type of their predecessors, the Vishnu kundins. Vishnuvardhana I's issues have a clear legend 'ShriVishama Siddhi' above the lion, but in later issues the legend is often shortened.
