Archaic silver punch marked coin, scyphate type from NW Uttar Pradesh , ½ Karshapana type, not in Rajgor, 1.42g. Obv: Deeply punched treskelis symbol. Rev: Blank.
Extremely fine, Very rare.
This coin is similar in fabric to Rajgor Series 79, which has a triangular symbol punched in the centre, and conforms to the ¼ Karshapana weight standard. This series is known only from a single hoard, now in the Lucknow Museum and does not correspond to any known 'Janapada' area.
