Vishnukundins, uninscribed 'lion' type coin of alloyed copper, middle/ late period, (550-600 AD), 3.11g. Obv: Roaring lion 'facing right, a javelin above its back. Rev: Lakshmi seated cross-legged facing, flanked by two stylized elephants on each side, standing on two small lotus buds.
Very fine+, Very rare.
An extremely rare Vishnukundin type depicting the popular 'Gajalakshmi' or 'Abhisheka Lakshmi' icon.
