Ancient Malwa, 'Ujjayini' region uninscribed die-struck coinage (200-100 BC), copper coin of 'standing man' type, unlisted 'in Pieper and Kothari, 3.37g. Obv: Man standing facing holding stick; five-pronged symbol to left, a stylised snake below it and wavy line at the bottom. Rev: 'Sun' symbol with curved rays and 'Ujjain' symbol.
Very fine, Rare.
Coins with the 'five-pronged' symbol are typically found from sites located to the South of the early historic settlement site on the river Kshipra in Ujjain.
