Very fine, Rare.
The coins in the name of Gopal Rao were listed as Maratha issues by M&W. However, in recent years it has become evident that they were struck and circulated in the region of Southern Marathwada which was under the Nizam's control. The identity of this 'Gopal Rao' remains elusive, but he is known to have held two titles - 'Punahpratapi' (listed by M&W) and 'Subedar' (unlisted). This coin belongs to the second variety.
