Satavahanas, Siri Satakani (c.100-50 BC), 'lion' type copper coin from Nasik region, 6.37g. Obv: Lion jumping to right, Swastika above; traces of Brahmi legend above. Rev: tree with broad leaves-in-railing, counterstruck with a Shrivatsa and then with another counterstamp with a row of three symbols, Shrivatsa, Triangle-headed standard and a Nandipada.
Very fine, Rare.
It is unusual for the 'lion' type coins to be counterstruck on the reverse. More often, the countermarks are seen applied on obverse.
