Pre-Bahmani Deccan / Tughlaq rebellion, copper or billon gani of Nasir al-Din Isma'il Shah (1346-1347 AD), mintless and dateless variety, G&G BH3, 3.35g. Obv: Arabic legend Isma'il Shah in double circle; traces of inscription in margin. Rev: Arabic legend al-Sultan al-'Azam Nasir al-Dunya wa al-Din Abu al-Fateh.

Towards the end of the reign of Muhammad Tughlaq, revolts broke out in many provinces of the Delhi Sultanate. In the Deccan, Nasir aldin Ismail, the Governor, declared his independence and struck coins in his name. However, after one year, he handed over the reins to Zafar Khan who adopted the title of 'Ala al-din Bahman Shah' and founded the Bahmani Sultanate.
