Sultan Dilawar, fl. 1617-1665 ruled Sandwip Island, a few miles off the coast from Chittagong. Sultan Dilawar was appointed governor of the island by the Arakanese in 1617 and was ultimately captured, at the age of about 80 years, by the Mughal forces of Aurangzeb in 1665. He was then imprisoned in Dhaka (Jahangirnagar), where he died soon afterwards. This is the only coin that is known to have been produced for the little island of Sandwip. As per the discussion in G&G, the coin is attributed to Dilawar acknowledging the suzerainty of Kyaw Htin, the governor of Chittagong. The last word of Arabic legend visible on this coin has not been read in G&G as the coin illustrated by them does not show it. 178.
