Sultans of Bengal, Nasir al-Din Mahmud Shah (1433/34-1459 AD), silver tanka, 'seven circles' type, Dakhil“Banjaliya?” mint, AH854, G&G B470 plate specimen, (listed as RRR), 10.50g. Obv: Arabic legend Nasir Shah in four circles (one in centre, three on periphery); al-Sultan in three circles (all on periphery), circles separated by crescents along the margin. Rev: in lotus-shaped cartouche, Arabic legend Nasir al-Islam Ghauth al-Muslimeen followed by date in numerals and mint name.
Very fine, Extremely rare.
G&G have wrongly reported the reverse legend to be Ghauth al-Islam wa al-Muslimeen.
