Ali Shah temporarily declared his independence in West Bengal and established a capital at Panduah which was renamed 'Firuzabad'. Although his name is taken to be 'Ali, on this coin it appears to be spelled as ''Aali'. G&G mention only two specimens of this type are recorded, and this, being their plate specimen, is one of them.
