Alchon Huns in Gandhara, gold Dinar of Aduman, (450-500AD), 6.83g. Obv: King with crescent moon-rosette crown after Kushano-Kidarite model sacrificing at an altar, trident to left, Hunnic (Alchon) Tamgha to the right near the feet; Bactrian inscription "Adomano, King of the East". Rev: plain.
Very fine+, Very rare.
Aduman was the only Alchon king besides Mehama, to have struck dinar with reduced gold content based on the Kidarite model. Unlike Mehama, his coins are known only from Gandhara but not Kashmir.
