Archaic silver punch-marked coin, from Gujarat/Kathiawad region, attributed to 'Surashtra Janapada' (350-250 BC), ¼ Karshapana, not listed in Rajgor or Van't Haaf, 0.58g. Obv: a small bird, most likely representing a Hamsa or swan standing above a rectangular pedestal. Rev: plain.
Very fine, Very rare.
An entirely new type of 'Surashtra' punch-marked coinage, not listed in the two most comprehensive catalogues.
