Aurangzeb (1658-1707 AD), anonymous copper dam struck to the light weight standard, Ahmadabad mint, AH 10xx, 13.65g.
Very fine, Rare.
In the decade after Aurangzeb's accession, the standard for copper Dams was downgraded from 20 gm to a lighter standard. This coin is unusual in many ways - unlike most other coins of the anonymous type, it has legends inscribed in Nastaliq; it also has the mint-name written in rather curious manner with the locative suffix 'abad' separated from 'Ahmed' to the top line.
