Ancient Greece, Macedonian Empire, Hellenistic period, silver tetradrachm in the name of Alexander the Great (250-175 BC) posthumous issues, Mesembria mint, Price 1032, 16.72g. Obv: head of beardless Heracles right wearing lion skin headdress. Rev: Zeus seated on stool-throne left, eagle on outstretched right hand, scepter in left hand, Greek legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ on either side; Corinthian helmet to left, Greek letters LA below the throne and monogram in exergue.
