Central India, circular terracotta sealing in buff clay with Brahmi inscription Amatya Sanjnyamadevasya, with thread impressions on the reverse, (100-200 AD), 6.63g.
Very fine, Very rare.
The inscription clearly refers to an 'Amatya' or minister and it is likely that the sealing might have been attached to some article of his personal effect. Individuals holding the Amatya title are known from several inscriptions and coins from the Erach region.
