Vijayanagara, gold Fanam, most likely of Achyutadeva Raya (1529-1542 AD), unpublished in major sources, 0.38g. Obv: Mythical double-headed bird 'Gandabherunda' walking to left in dotted border. Rev: Partially visible Nagari legend '…Raya'.
Very fine, Extremely rare.
Although the legend is only partly visible, typologically there is little doubt that this coin is attributed to Achyutadeva Raya. The symbol of mythical double-headed bird was his numismatic favourite.
