Hoysala period, gold Fanam in the name of 'Isavara', (1100-1200 AD), unpublished in Mitchiner, 0.32g. Obv: Hanuman seated in profile facing right. Rev: Hale-Kannada legend in two lines -Isa / vara.
Very fine, Very rare.
It is unclear what the term 'Isavara' refers to, but it could be a name of a place or a temple. Gadyanas with the same legend are known showing the triad of Rama, Seeta and Hanuman, while Fanams, which remain unpublished in catalogues, have only Hanuman.
