Obv: nimbate king standing facing holding strung bow in one hand and an arrow in the other, elaborate Chakra on standard to left; Brahmi legend Jaya below the arm holding the bow. Rev: Abhisheka Lakshmi seated on lotus, making a gesture of benevolence, elephant on lotus to left; traces of Brahmi legend …ndaya(sha)… to right, flan little crack.
Very fine, Very rare.
Jayanaga is known from the 'Vappaghoshavata' copper plate charter, issued from Karnasuvarna, located probably in Murshidabad district. His coins show him either in profile to left, or facing. This coin belongs to the latter category which is much rarer than the former.
