Hun (Hephthalite) Kingdom, Copper Stater of Mihiragula (c. 515-530 AD), Kashmir series, MAC3779-3781, 7.92g. Obv: Kushan-style king standing holding a standard and offering a sacrifice; Brahmi legend Shahi Mi (hi) ragula around. Rev: Goddess seated holding a cornucopia.
Very Fine, Rare.
Mihiragula is known to have retired to Kashmir after suffering a defeat at the hands of Gupta ruler Narasimha Gupta Baladitya in mid-6thcentury AD. The coins he issued there follow Kushan / Kidarite prototypes.
