Western Kshatrapas, Karddamaka dynasty, Silver Drachm of Damazada I (Damajadashri I) as Mahakshatrapa, (c. 165-177 AD), date not clear, Fishman 9.3.x ('Mint B'), 2.00g. Obv: Profile bust of king facing right, illegible Greek legend around. Rev: Dynastic emblem in centre; Brahmi legend Rajño Mahakshatrapasa Rudradamaputrasa Rajño Mahakshatrapasa Damajadashriya.
Very Fine, Extremely Rare.
This type was issued at the far end of the rule of Damazada I and constitutes the earliest dated coins in the Western Kshatrapa series. Fishman illustrates one dated SE99. This coin is struck with dies extremely close to that coin and most probably bears date SE100, which Fishman notes as 'not yet known'.
