Struck during the tenure of Raghunath Hari Newalkar as the Subahdar of Jhansi, this is the first fractional gold coin of a North Indian Maratah mint ever known. Typologically it is close to T8a/8b of silver coins, listed by Maheshwari & Wiggins.
