Extremely Fine, Extremely Rare.

During 1615-1619, Jahangir moved his court to Ajmer for three years to conduct campaign against the belligerent Ranas of Mewar. During this period, he is known to have held court several times, gone on royal hunts, and paid visits to shrines of various holy men. There are many references of coins being scattered each time the king processed through streets to ward off the 'evil eye'. This coin, bearing a poetic allusion meaning 'light scattering', was undoubtedly struck for one such occasion.
