Medieval Western India, Silver Dramma of 'Kalahasila' (c. 700-800 AD), MAC5102-03, 0.56g. Obv: Sword pointing downwards with umbrella (Chhatra) attached to the hilt. Rev: Nagari legend Shri Kalahasila arranged in a circle.
Very Fine,Rare.
Mitchiner regards 'Kalahasila' to be a feudatory of Kalachuris of Mahishmati; however it is more likely that he was a Pratihara feudatory from Malwa / Gujarat region.
