Indo-Greeks, crude imitation of Apollodotos II / Zoilos II Copper Coin from Gujarat (50 BC), 3.73g. Obv: Apollo standing holding bow, facing right; traces of Greek legend to left. Rev: Tripod of Apollo in centre, monogram to right, Kharoshthi letter 'pi' to left, all enclosed in dotted border; traces of Kharoshthi legend around.
Very Fine, Very Scarce.
These imitative coins fill an important historical gap between the decline of the Indo-Greeks and the advent of the Kshaharata Kshatrapas in 1st century BC Gujarat.
