Yadava(?) interregnum in Goa, Gold Gadyana in the name of Ramachandra (c.1235-40AD), 4.38g. Obv: Roaring lion, facing left; Nagari legend Manmatha (the cyclic year) to left. Rev: Nagari legend in four lines - (Shri) Sapta / (ko)tishwara Chara / …labdha Shri Rama / …(dra) Deva.
Very Fine, Very Rare.
Cyclic year 'Manmatha' corresponds to 1235 AD. These coins were issued during Yadava occupation of Goa, in which Ramachandra (possibly the same as Ramachandra the Yadava king) appears to have been a nominal viceroy.
