Afsharids, Nadir Shah (1735-1747 AD), Silver Rupee, struck at Dar ul-Khilafat Shahjahanabad Mint during Nadir Shah's brief occupation in Delhi, AH 1152.
Very Fine+, Rare.
Nadir Shah invaded India in AH 1151 and defeated the Mughal Emperor Muhammad Shah and captured Delhi which was formerly known as Shahjahanabad. Nadir Shah held the city for few months, then returned it to Muhammad Shah in AH 1152 in exchange of vast booty including famed treasures like the Kohinoor diamond and the 'Peacock Throne'.
