Awadh, Shujaud-Daula (1754-1775 AD), Silver Rupee, Balwantnagar (Jhansi) Mint, in the name of Shah Alam II, RY 4, 'Trisul' mark on obverse, listed as a Maratha issue by M&W as T7a, 11.30g.
Very Fine, Very Scarce.
Jhansi was occupied by Awadh for four years after the battle of Panipat. The coins show a marked variation in style and type from the preceding Maratha issues and have the added words 'Roshan Akhtar' added to the reverse legend (partially visible on this coin).
